Performance Summary Dashboard

The Performance Summary Dashboard focuses on showing how many repeat customers made purchases within a specific month. It provides a snapshot of the number of customers who made their first order at any time in the past and made subsequent orders within the chosen month.

For example, let's say in July, the Performance Summary Dashboard shows that you had 1 repeat customer. This means that there was a customer who placed their first order in the past (it could be in any previous month or even years ago) and made another order in July. This customer may have made their second, third, fourth, or even more orders in July.

Customer Retention Dashboard

The Customer Retention Dashboard, on the other hand, focuses on customer behavior over a selected period, not tied to a particular month as in the Performance Summary Dashboard. It provides insights into how many customers have placed a specific number of orders during the chosen period.

For example, let's say you set the date range for the Customer Retention Dashboard from 1st October 2022 to July 2023. The dashboard will show you how many customers placed 1 order, 2 orders, 3 orders, 4 orders, 5 orders during that time frame. This includes customers who may have made their first order in any month within the selected period.

To illustrate this, let's consider a customer who placed an order in November 2022 and then another order in January 2023. In the Customer Retention Dashboard, this customer would be counted as part of the total number of customers who placed 2 orders, regardless of the specific months in which the orders were made.

Conclusion

The Performance Summary Dashboard provides a monthly view of repeat customers, showing how many customers made subsequent orders in a specific month. The Customer Retention Dashboard, on the other hand, provides insights into customer behavior over a selected period, showing the number of customers who placed a specific number of orders within that time frame.
